Burklyn’s 6 Month Portraits | San Antonio Cake Smash Photographer | Krystal Garcia Photography

Sweet Burklyn is such a doll. What’s even more cute is watching her light up when her momma looks at her! She might have given me a couple of smiles when I did Peek a Boo, but her smiles were never as big as when her momma talked to her. Lol She’s booked for her milestone package and set to see me every 3 months. So far we’ve done her newborn, 3 month milestone and 6 month milestone session and each time she’s had the cutest outfits for her backdrops. (except the newborn session, I always supply those for my babies since I have so many already purchased)

I can’t wait to see her at her 9 month milestone session. ❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite families to see every year (no worries, i do have lots of favorites). I love my clients and their kids and i do love seeing how much they've grown every year :)

One week ago today I was in the ER getting transferred to a different hospital for a possible surgery. I get emotional thinking about how the events went off those 12 hours prior and I wanted to use this moment in my life as a teaching moment for the other moms/women/business owners who put work/responsibilities in front of their health.
I was going to bed that Tuesday evening and felt intense stomach pains. Enough that I couldn't get comfortable so my husband stayed in the living room with me as I sat in a recliner waiting for the pain to stop. I woke him up a couple of hours later and told him i felt like I wasn't going to get good sleep and let's go to the bed. Later, I woke up, went to the bathroom with a ton of pain and I had passed out on the bathroom floor. I was so out of it, and it really didn't even click in my head what happened. I went back to bed and when my alarm went off & I got up, I passed out again. My husband was awake and insisted I get seen.
My worry, the entire night, was how was I going to tell my client I was not going to be able to keep her session for that day. My arms were weak, I could barely walk and my concern was making a client mad.
In a world of google reviews and word of mouth, my biggest fear is upsetting the wrong person.
Luckily, my client was extremely understanding.
We went to urgent care and after feeling around my tummy and me crying in pain, they told me to head to the hospital. After an ultrasound of my belly and a CT with contrast and then a pelvic ultrasound, they confirmed that I had a Hemorrhagic Ovarian cyst that was bleeding out into my abdomen and would need to be transferred out. Luckily, I was stable enough to go without surgery and just monitoring overnight.
This huge story but to admit, the whole time, I was more worried about the list of clients I would have to cancel. I was in the ER and texting clients and telling them there was a possibility of having to cancel their session for the next day.

I'm still recovering with belly pain and glad to say that every day, I’m feeling a little better. But ladies, put your health first. Don't push thru it because of expectations of others.
