A Beautiful Baby Girl & All Things Floral | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

There is something so special about welcoming a brand-new baby into the studio, especially when I get to bring out all the pretty florals, soft colors, and delicate little details!

This sweet baby girl was an absolute dream during her newborn photography session. With her gorgeous dark hair, precious little features, and sleepy expressions, she looked beautiful in every single setup we created.

For her session, we incorporated a lovely mixture of soft pinks, romantic florals, mint greens, and even a gorgeous pop of magenta. I loved how every setup had its own personality while still keeping that soft, feminine feel throughout her gallery.

Pretty Florals & Sweet Newborn Details

One of my favorite things about photographing newborn baby girls is putting together beautiful setups that complement each baby.

We started with some gorgeous floral arrangements surrounding a natural wicker basket, filled with soft pink textures and rich rose-colored flowers. The combination of the flowers, delicate headband, and her tiny little hands tucked beneath her chin made for such a precious portrait.

Another favorite was our softer blush floral setup. The delicate blossoms, cozy textures, and pale pink wrap created such a dreamy look. And of course, that beautiful dark hair made everything even sweeter!

A Little Color & Lots of Personality

While soft pink is always a favorite for newborn girls, I also love introducing other colors into a session.

The mint green setup was such a beautiful change of pace! It complemented her complexion perfectly and gave us something a little different from the traditional pink newborn portraits.

And that magenta outfit? Such a gorgeous pop of color! I loved the rich tone against the coordinating backdrop, especially with her little floral headband.

We also incorporated a delicate blush outfit with the prettiest little bow, creating timeless portraits that really brought all the attention to her tiny features.

Capturing All Those Tiny Details

One thing I always want parents to remember is just how quickly this newborn stage passes.

Those tiny fingers, little toes, full cheeks, sleepy smiles, and all that beautiful newborn hair change before you know it.

Sweet Beginnings | San Antonio Newborn Photography

here’s something incredibly special about those first few weeks with a new baby. The tiny fingers, peaceful expressions, and the way they fit so perfectly in their parents’ arms. It’s a season that passes far too quickly, and one of the reasons I love being a newborn photographer.
This sweet baby boy came into my San Antonio photography studio for his newborn session, and he couldn’t have been more precious!
We started with a few adorable newborn portraits, keeping everything soft, simple, and timeless. Warm caramel tones, cozy knit outfits, and a tiny football made for the sweetest little setup. I absolutely loved the rich, earthy colors against his beautiful skin.
We also incorporated some classic neutral looks, including a soft cream outfit and an adorable little teddy bear bonnet. These simple setups are some of my favorites because they keep the focus exactly where it belongs — on those precious newborn features.
More Than Just Newborn Photos
One of my favorite parts of this session was capturing the family portraits.
Seeing this sweet baby boy snuggled up against his mama was such a beautiful moment. We also photographed him surrounded by his family, including Grandma! Having multiple generations together makes these portraits especially meaningful.

From Maternity to Newborn: A Western-Inspired Newborn Session in San Antonio

One of the sweetest parts of being a newborn photographer is getting to welcome families back into the studio after photographing such an important chapter before their baby arrived. I previously had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple for their maternity session, so seeing them return—this time with their little one in their arms—made this session especially meaningful.

For their newborn session, they chose a beautiful mix of themes that reflected their style while still giving them plenty of variety throughout their gallery.

We started with an adorable western-inspired newborn setup, complete with warm brown tones, a tiny cowboy hat, boots, and the sweetest little horse. The rich earthy colors paired perfectly with the rustic wood backdrop and created such a timeless cowboy look.

They also selected a completely different celestial setup, featuring deep blue tones, stars, golden moons, and a crescent moon prop. I love when families choose setups that feel completely different from one another because it gives the finished newborn gallery so much visual variety.

For another timeless look, we kept things simple and neutral with soft beige tones, natural textures, and a rustic little newborn bed. These earthy colors keep the focus completely on baby and are photographs that will still feel beautiful years from now.

And, of course, we made sure to document this new season as a family. Mom and Dad each had individual portraits with their baby before coming together for their first family photographs. Their coordinating black outfits kept the portraits clean and classic while allowing their connection with their newest little love to take center stage.

Getting to photograph a family during maternity and then welcome them back for newborn portraits is such a privilege. These sessions aren’t simply about how tiny baby was—they document the moment a family changed forever.

A Sweet Baby Girl Newborn Session | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

There is something extra special about photographing a brand-new baby surrounded by a family already completely in love with her. This beautiful newborn session included not only plenty of sweet portraits of baby girl, but also some of my favorite moments with her parents and two very proud big sisters.

For her session, we chose a soft and feminine color palette filled with blush pinks, creamy whites, delicate florals and warm neutrals. I love creating variety within a newborn gallery while still making sure every setup feels cohesive. From the tiny floral headbands and lace details to the heart-shaped prop and simple white posing, each setup was designed to keep the focus exactly where it belongs — on baby.

One of the things I want parents to know when choosing me as their San Antonio newborn photographer is that you do not need to arrive with a suitcase full of newborn props. My studio is stocked with wraps, outfits, headbands, bonnets, posing fabrics, backdrops, baskets and props specifically chosen for newborn photography. Before each session, I coordinate the colors and details to create a gallery personalized to your style.

Family and sibling photographs are also such an important part of the newborn experience. These two big sisters were absolutely adorable with their newest little sister! I carefully guide families through posing so no one needs to worry about where to stand, what to do with their hands or how to safely hold baby. My goal is for the experience to feel relaxed while still creating polished, beautiful portraits.

After 16 years as a photographer, newborn posing and attention to detail have become some of the most important parts of my work. Babies are never rushed into a pose, and every session is approached with patience and your baby’s comfort and safety in mind.

There is something so special about creating a newborn gallery that feels both timeless and completely personal to the family. This sweet baby girl’s San Antonio newborn photography session included a beautiful combination of soft neutrals, lavender, peach, blue, rich floral colors, and meaningful portraits with her mother and big brother.

Her gallery had so much variety. We created classic newborn portraits that kept the attention on her tiny features, along with more colorful floral setups filled with texture and personality. The butterfly-and-flower backdrop was especially beautiful with the deep purple wrap and heart-shaped prop. We also used peach florals, lavender accents, delicate newborn outfits, handmade headbands, wraps, baskets, and layers to create a coordinated gallery without making every photograph look the same.

We started with simple, timeless family portraits. I love including these clean studio family images during newborn sessions because they keep the focus exactly where it belongs — on the connection between everyone. One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing mom with her baby boy. There is something so tender about those first portraits of a mother and her newborn. They are simple, emotional, and timeless. Baby was wrapped in a soft blue swaddle, which photographed beautifully against the clean white studio backdrop and mom’s light blue dress.

These are the kinds of portraits that become even more meaningful as the years go by.

For baby’s solo portraits, we used a beautiful blue color palette. The soft blue wrap, textured layers, and heart-shaped bowl created such a sweet setup for this little one. Blue is always a classic choice for newborn boys, but I love using it in a way that still feels soft, modern, and timeless.

This setup gave the gallery a peaceful, cozy feel while still adding color and texture. The heart bowl was the perfect little prop to make the image feel extra sweet without taking attention away from baby.

We also used a rustic bucket setup with warm wood tones and deep blue textures. This is such a great option for families who love a slightly more natural, earthy look. The wood backdrop, rustic bucket, and soft blue layer worked so well together and gave the session a little variety while still keeping everything cohesive.

One thing I love about newborn photography in San Antonio is being able to style each session around the family’s preferences. Some families love soft neutrals. Some love blues, greens, creams, or warm rustic tones. My studio has a variety of wraps, props, outfits, and backdrops so every newborn session can feel personal and beautifully styled.

Big sister absolutely deserves her own moment in this blog post because she was adorable. Sibling portraits during a newborn session can be some of the sweetest images in the whole gallery. Toddlers are full of personality, so I always keep sibling poses safe, simple, and age-appropriate.

For this setup, baby was posed safely in the bucket while big sister sat nearby. Her smile and excitement made these images so precious. These are the kinds of photos parents love because they capture the beginning of a sibling bond.

We also included a soft neutral setup with baby in a beige outfit. Neutral newborn portraits are always timeless because they keep the focus on baby’s tiny features — the little toes, sleepy face, soft cheeks, and sweet newborn details. This pose was simple, classic, and perfect for showing just how tiny he is in this season.

Newborns change so fast. Their hair, cheeks, little rolls, sleepy expressions, and curled-up poses all shift within weeks. That is why scheduling newborn photos early is so important. The best time for a newborn photoshoot in San Antonio is typically within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are still extra sleepy and naturally curled.

Another favorite from this sneak peek is the green wrapped setup. The rich green tones gave the session a beautiful, earthy feel and added a completely different look to the gallery. I love when newborn galleries include a mix of colors and textures while still feeling polished and cohesive.

This little one slept so peacefully, which allowed us to capture several different setups, wraps, and poses. Every baby is different, and newborn sessions always move at baby’s pace. Feeding breaks, soothing, diaper changes, and snuggles are all part of the process. The goal is never to rush. The goal is to create beautiful portraits while keeping baby comfortable and safe.

Babies are still a bit floppy and not fully supporting their heads yet, so unlike a newborn session—where baby is asleep and curled up—we focus on expressions, connection, and those new personality traits starting to shine through. Wide-eyed curiosity, soft smiles, surprise faces… this stage is gold.

At this age, babies tire quickly from holding their heads up. They’re used to being snuggled in cozy arms or resting in a bassinet or bouncer, so we keep posing gentle and low-effort. The good news? Because the setups are simple, we usually have a longer window before they need a nap.

Holden did exactly what most 3-month-olds do—got a little fussy, took a 10-minute power nap, and came back ready for round two. Completely normal, totally unpredictable, and honestly part of the fun at this age.

For his session, we started with the fluffy rug, moved to the posing station, and finished with a few adorable prop setups. He nailed every part.

I’m so thrilled to be working with this beautiful baby girl and her family over the next year! She’s already booked for her 6-month and one-year milestone sessions, and I can’t wait to watch her grow and capture each precious stage along the way.

A Dreamy Newborn Session

For this newborn session, she did absolutely amazing. We started off with family portraits, capturing all those tender first moments together, before moving on to her solo newborn photos. She slept like a champ through every setup, which made for the sweetest poses and expressions.

Her parents decided to skip the traditional “wrapped” style and go for a more natural newborn look — curled in their arms and hands, highlighting just how tiny and new she is. These photos turned out to be so pure and emotional, showing the beautiful connection between baby and parents.

Newborns are best photographed under two weeks old — that’s when they’re still sleepy, flexible, and have that “fresh and new” look. After just a few short weeks, babies begin to fill out, wake up more easily, and aren’t quite as curly for those classic newborn poses.
