A Fun 3rd Birthday Photoshoot in San Antonio

This sweet 3rd birthday photoshoot in San Antonio was such a fun one to capture. This little guy and his family are regulars of mine, and I always love having them back in the studio. His parents have trusted me with so many special milestones over the years, starting with maternity photos, then 6-month portraits, his cake smash session, annual family photos, and now his third birthday portraits.

Getting to watch families grow year after year is one of my favorite parts of being a San Antonio child photographer. I have photographed this sweet boy through so many stages, and he is always such a joy. He is fun, smiley, easygoing, and just the happiest little guy. Some children need a little extra time to warm up, but he has always been so chill and sweet in front of the camera. His personality really shines in his photos.

For his birthday session, his family chose a fun superhero-inspired theme with city lights, bold colors, and playful details. It was perfect for a 3-year-old boy and gave the session such a fun, energetic feel. We also included simple milestone portraits with a birthday number, which is always a great way to document their exact age in a clean and timeless way.

A Girly Pink Newborn Petite Session with Bows and Timeless Parent Poses

This sweet newborn petite session was full of the prettiest girly details, soft pink tones, and beautiful bows. Baby girl came into my San Antonio newborn studio ready for her first portraits, and she did absolutely amazing for her session.

For this newborn session, mama chose a very feminine look with soft pinks, delicate outfits, and lots of pretty bows. I used several pieces from my newborn collection, which made it easy to create variety while keeping the full gallery soft, simple, and timeless. The pink tones were perfect for a baby girl session and gave every image such a sweet and classic feel.

Mom and dad also chose to join in for a few timeless parent poses cuddling their baby girl. I always love including parents in newborn sessions because these portraits become some of the most meaningful images in the gallery. There is something so special about seeing how tiny baby is in mom and dad’s arms during those first few weeks. There is truly nothing better than watching families grow and being trusted again and again to photograph such important milestones. For this baby boy’s session, mama chose a rich dark royal purple as his primary blanket color. It photographed beautifully and gave his newborn portraits such a classic, bold look while still feeling soft and timeless. We paired the purple with a mix of beige and neutral tones for his outfits and wraps, which helped create a gallery with variety while keeping everything simple, sweet, and cohesive.

A Beautiful Signature Maternity Photoshoot in San Antonio, Texas

This sweet client came into my San Antonio photography studio for her Signature maternity photoshoot, and her session was such a beautiful mix of simple, dramatic, soft, and romantic. I love when maternity sessions include variety while still feeling timeless, and this gallery had such a perfect balance.

For her first look, we started with a dramatic sheer black fabric maternity look. We kept some poses soft and simple with classic draping around her belly, then added movement by tossing the fabric into the air for a more editorial, flowing look. This style is always stunning because it creates so much shape and drama while still keeping the focus on mom and her beautiful baby bump.

Her second look was a fitted sleeveless green gown, which gave us a clean and classic studio maternity style. Fitted maternity gowns are perfect for highlighting the bump, and this deep green color photographed beautifully against the simple studio backdrop. This look also gave us a chance to include her husband for a few sweet maternity portraits together. I always love including partners during a maternity session because it adds another layer of connection and emotion to the gallery.

For her final look, she wore a soft mauve flowy gown with beautiful texture and movement. This gown gave the session such a romantic feel. The soft color, floral details, and flowing fabric created a completely different look from the fitted gown and black fabric images, which is exactly why I love offering multiple looks during a Signature maternity session.

There is something so special about photographing a family year after year and watching their story unfold. This beautiful family of four met me in a dreamy open field in Helotes, Texas just outside of San Antonio, and it could not have been a more perfect evening. The tall golden grass swayed gently in the breeze while the Texas sunset wrapped everything in that soft, glowing light we all love.

As a San Antonio family photographer, golden hour is truly my favorite time to shoot. The light becomes warm and flattering, the sky turns into the prettiest blend of soft oranges and pastels, and everything feels calm and connected. This Helotes field location is one of those hidden gems that gives you wide open space, natural texture, and the most beautiful sunset views.

The kids ran freely through the tall fields, laughing and cuddling up to mom and dad in between playful moments. There were so many genuine smiles, sweet forehead kisses, and tight family squeezes. Those in-between moments are always the ones I treasure most because they tell the real story. It is never about stiff poses. It is about connection, movement, and capturing your family exactly as you are in this season.

What makes sessions like this even more meaningful is when families choose to come back. Being their San Antonio family photographer again is something I never take for granted. There is something so special about photographing a brand new baby — and sweet Amelia’s session was absolute perfection.

From the moment she arrived at my San Antonio newborn photography studio, she was calm, snuggly, and completely adorable. I may or may not have spent the entire session talking about how cute she was.

For Amelia’s newborn setups, we chose a soft, romantic color palette that complemented her beautifully. We incorporated rich burgundy tones, creamy neutrals, delicate light pinks, and soft lavender purples. Each setup highlighted her tiny features while keeping the focus on her sweet expressions and perfect little details.

Every newborn session in my studio follows a gentle, baby-led flow. We begin with classic posed newborn images on the posing table — those timeless curled-up poses where baby rests peacefully on layered blankets. These images are simple, clean, and designed to feel heirloom-worthy.

From there, we transition into styled prop setups. Props allow for a little variety while still keeping baby safe, supported, and comfortable at all times.

Toward the end of Amelia’s session, she began waking up a bit more easily (which is completely normal!). A snug, cozy swaddle worked like magic — keeping her content so we could capture those final images, including the most meaningful part of the session: portraits with mom and dad.

Family images during a newborn session are always my favorite. They capture not just how tiny your baby is, but how deeply loved they are from the very beginning.

Extended Family Photography at Brackenridge Park | San Antonio Family Photographer

There is something incredibly special about photographing families who haven’t had professional portraits taken in years — especially when multiple generations are finally together in one place. This beautiful family shared that their last professional photos were taken when their oldest grandchild was still little, so it was definitely time for an update!

With family members traveling in from all over the U.S., this session became more than just photos — it was about preserving a rare moment when everyone could finally be together again. I was truly honored they trusted me to document these memories for their family.

We met at one of my favorite outdoor photo locations in San Antonio: Brackenridge Park, located just minutes from downtown and right next to the San Antonio Zoo (a favorite spot for my own kids too!). Brackenridge Park offers gorgeous natural scenery with towering trees, peaceful walking paths, charming bridges, and the river flowing through parts of the park — giving us a beautiful variety of backdrops for timeless family portraits.

Extended family sessions can sometimes feel overwhelming for the person organizing them, especially when coordinating multiple households, schedules, and travel plans. This family happened to be visiting Grandma and Grandpa, making it the perfect opportunity to finally capture three generations together in one meaningful session.

Watching the grandparents surrounded by their children and grandchildren was such a reminder of how quickly time passes — and how valuable these photographs become as the years go by. These are the images that get framed on walls, shared with future generations, and treasured long after the session ends.

Autumn was such an absolute dream to photograph during her newborn session here in my San Antonio photography studio. From the moment she was settled, she curled beautifully into each pose and slept peacefully throughout her entire photoshoot — every newborn photographer’s dream client.
