A Beautiful Newborn Session with Baby Kennedy | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

Miss Kennedy’s newborn session was extra special — she’s the second baby I’ve had the honor of photographing for this sweet family! Her big sister was an absolute star during her own session, so I was excited to meet Kennedy and create something equally beautiful for her growing family.

Every newborn session I offer here at Krystal Garcia Photography in San Antonio is fully customized. From the color palette to the props and florals, I work closely with parents (and sometimes generous grandparents!) to design a gallery that feels personal, timeless, and full of love. In this case, it was Kennedy’s wonderful grandmother who gifted the session — such a thoughtful and meaningful way to celebrate a new baby. These photos will be treasured by the family for generations.

Custom Newborn Session with Florals and Soft Tones

The requested colors for Kennedy’s session were white, purple, coral, and dark pink — a stunning combination for a baby girl. I also incorporated lots of floral elements, which added a soft, whimsical touch to each setup. These hues complimented Kennedy’s skin tone beautifully and gave us a wide variety of looks, from classic to dreamy.

Kennedy was just under 2 weeks old when she came into the studio, which is the perfect window for newborn photography. At this age, babies tend to be extra sleepy and still very curly, which makes it easier to pose them safely and comfortably. She needed a few feeding breaks, as most babies do, but overall she was such a dream to photograph.

Capturing Sweet Moments and Tiny Smiles

One of my favorite parts of Kennedy’s session? That sweet smile I caught mid-shoot! Newborn smiles are rare and quick — you really have to be ready at just the right moment to catch one. When I do, it almost always ends up being one of the parents’ favorite images. Kennedy’s smile melted all of us!

Her big sister also joined us for some sibling and family portraits, and she continues to be so photogenic and fun to work with. It’s a joy watching families grow and getting to be part of their story through photography.

Camila’s newborn session went wonderfully. I’m always thrilled to have every family come in and choose me to photograph their new baby. Most come in so excited and still glowing with joy to show their newborn baby. So many love the idea of capturing time with portraits which of course, i love! Each newborn session gets special planning with color schemes, family portraits (sometimes sibling too). I get to hand select outfits, head pieces and props that go with the colors schemes the parents select. Miss Camilla couldn’t have had a better newborn photoshoot. She slept so great and she did so much! Each newborn photoshoot has up to 3 hours of time scheduled with me , and although most don’t need the full session, It means they did really well. 🙂 Momma wanted lots of floral and lots of girly colors for miss Camilla’s newborn session. I especially loved the floral tucked in baby look 🙂

I first met Taylor and her family a few months ago during their maternity session, and it was such a joy to capture that special time before their little one arrived! Taylor is absolutely stunning—beautiful inside and out, with the kindest heart. When their sweet baby was born, we scheduled their newborn session and carefully planned the details, from selecting the perfect color palette for baby’s solo portraits to deciding on family and parent-baby shots.

This little guy was an absolute dream! He slept so well throughout the session, allowing us to capture the most precious newborn photos. Every tiny detail—his soft features, tiny fingers, and peaceful expressions—was beautifully preserved in these timeless images.

Being a maternity photographer here in San Antonio has so many amazing perks and one of them is meeting new people and talking to them. I really am blessed to have some of the sweetest people as clients. it’s such a joy to talk to them and walk around and capture their love for each other. I know they are super excited for their new baby and I get the honor of documenting this huge time in their life 🙂

With every maternity, family or any type of outdoor session, clients have complete control on their location choice but I do help guide clients and I have a private link I send to my clients to help them choose their location with example photos to help them decide what fits their style better. At my list of locations, i have my favorite spots and help clients pose and I already know there lighting is best. I do love having that ease.

Maddy chose to start her session with a pair of jeans, a sports bra and a button up shirt for a comfortable but stylish maternity look. We also did some of her photos in the river. The water was actually still cold even though we were already in March 🙂 Mama was a champ even with her cold legs. She then changed into one of my maternity gowns for the last look for her outdoor maternity session. It was such a good color with the outdoor fields that we shot at in Boerne, texas. I am thrilled this beautiful mama chose me to be her maternity photographer 🙂

It’s always such a joy to watch families grow, and this sweet little girl is no exception. I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family for the second time, and just like her big sister, she was an absolute gem during her newborn session. Her mama had a vision in mind for the session, requesting creams, whites, and soft pinks—such timeless and classic colors that perfectly complement the innocence of a newborn.

To make this session even more special, we included family and sibling portraits. It’s so important to capture the entire family during such a precious time, especially when welcoming a new addition. The love and connection between siblings are something so beautiful to document, and I’m thrilled to have been part of this moment for them.

What truly made this session stand out, though, was a rare and delightful surprise: smiles! Newborns are often quite sleepy and content during their time in the studio, which makes for peaceful and serene images. Celebrating the Special Bond: Twin Senior Portraits in San Antonio

As a San Antonio senior photographer, there’s something incredibly special about capturing the unique personalities of each individual during this milestone year. I had the privilege of working with two amazing twin girls for their senior graduation photos, and it was a truly heartwarming experience.

When I first met these beautiful sisters, they were a bit quiet and reserved—totally understandable with the whirlwind of emotions that come with senior year! But once we started chatting, their vibrant personalities began to shine through. They effortlessly opened up, and their natural beauty and infectious smiles took center stage. It was clear to me that these two share a deep, loving bond, and that was such a joy to witness throughout the session.

As we spent the day capturing their senior photos, we also chatted about their upcoming college plans, and it was impossible not to notice the pride (and a little sadness) in their mama’s eyes as she spoke about them leaving the nest. I could sense the bittersweet excitement of both the girls and their family as they stood at the threshold of such an important chapter in their lives. These photos are not just a celebration of their high school accomplishments but also a testament to their hard work, dedication, and bright futures ahead.

Both of these girls are incredibly smart and have been active throughout their high school years—so capturing their achievements felt especially meaningful. From their academic accomplishments to their leadership roles, it’s clear they’ve made the most of their time in school, and their senior photos reflect the culmination of all their hard work and growth.

One of the best parts of a twin photo session is seeing the incredible bond they share. We took a variety of portraits that highlighted their connection and deep love for one another. There’s something magical about twin siblings—the way they understand each other, laugh together, and support one another no matter what. But even though they’re twins, each girl has her own unique personality, and I made sure to capture that individuality too.

For both of them, this is a time of transition—leaving high school behind and stepping into a new world filled with endless possibilities. These photos are more than just pictures; they’re a way to document the end of this chapter and the beginning of the next. I’m so honored to have been able to capture these precious memories for them and their family.

As a San Antonio photographer, there’s truly nothing that brings me more joy than working with my clients. Capturing Precious Newborn Moments: San Antonio Newborn Photography

As a San Antonio newborn photographer, one of my favorite parts of the job is learning the unique stories behind the families who bring in their little ones. Every family has a journey—a beautiful, sometimes challenging path—that leads them to these precious newborns. Whether it’s the joyous surprise of a “happy accident” or a long road of trying to conceive, fertility treatments, surrogacy, or adoption, each story is special and memorable. I feel truly honored to hear these stories and be a part of such an intimate moment in their lives.

Being chosen to document these first moments is always such an honor. These parents clearly adore their newborns, and the love they feel is tangible in the photos we create together. It’s always heartwarming to see parents so eager to preserve these fleeting moments with a professional newborn photoshoot.

For this session, Elina’s mom had a beautiful vision for her newborn photography session. She wanted a soft, dreamy color palette of light pink, dark pink, mint/turquoise, and white/cream to create a serene and timeless look. Of course, we couldn’t forget about big brother, who was a total ham in front of the camera! He had such a joyful energy, making the photoshoot even more fun and memorable.

It’s not very often I have clients request the non traditional colors for girl newborn sessions. I love pinks, I love whites, but It’s so much fun to use colors that aren’t requested too often. This mama requested blues, reds, purples and mint/turquoise :). Choosing me as your newborn photographer means you get to customize your newborn photoshoot with options that fit your personal style or maybe to match the baby’s nursery or classic /neutral colors that will go in any room in your house. The options are endless, but they are yours to pick 🙂
