A Quinceañera Photoshoot at the Japanese Tea Garden | San Antonio, TX

Celebrating a quinceañera is so much more than a photoshoot—it’s a cultural milestone. Even after 16 years as a San Antonio photographer specializing in birthdays and milestone sessions, this was my very first quinceañera session, and I couldn’t be more honored to have captured such a meaningful moment.

We met at the Japanese Tea Garden, one of the most popular spots in San Antonio for quinceañera portraits (for good reason!). Even with the cloudy skies, the gardens were stunning. We explored every corner—the stone bridges, floral pathways, peaceful landscaping, and the iconic waterfall that makes this location feel like a hidden escape right in the middle of the city.

What made this session even more magical were the Christmas lights twinkling in the upper walkways. They added such an elegant, unexpected glow to her portraits and made the whole shoot feel like a fairytale.

As she moved through the gardens in her gown, I focused on guiding her into poses that felt natural, confident, and celebratory—showing both her personality and the significance of her quince. Seeing her step into this new chapter with so much joy was a privilege I won’t forget.

It was an honor to be chosen as her quinceañera photographer, and I am thrilled that her session went so beautifully. Capturing this milestone reminded me exactly why I love what I do: these portraits freeze a moment in time that families will cherish for generations.

Baby & Milestone, Cake Smash

Milo’s 1st Birthday Milestone portraits- San Antonio Milestone photographer

First Birthday Photos in San Antonio | Cowboy-Themed Milestone Session

There is something incredibly special about photographing a baby’s first birthday—and this session was even more meaningful because it marked the end of an entire year of memories.

This was my fifth photoshoot with sweet baby Milo, and it has been such an honor to document his whole first year. We started with his newborn session, then captured him again at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and now—his one year milestone. His family chose a milestone package designed to preserve every stage of that first year, and seeing it all come full circle is truly the best part of my job.

For his one-year session, Milo got to show off his very first pair of cowboy boots, his adorable cowboy hat, and of course—his huge, joyful smile. Watching how much he’s grown since his newborn session made this shoot especially emotional and fun.

First birthday sessions are some of my favorites because they capture such a meaningful transition. Babies are no longer tiny newborns, but they’re not quite toddlers yet either. This stage is full of curiosity, proud smiles, and new personality—and Milo brought all of that to his session.

We wrapped up his photoshoot with a milk bath, complete with bubbles and playful rubber duckies. These moments always bring out the most genuine expressions, and Milo had the best time splashing and laughing as we celebrated the end of his first year.

Luca’s 6 Month Milestone Portraits | San Antonio Milestone photographer | Krystal Garcia Photography

Mr Luca. You are too cute for words and certainly brought your A game for your 2nd photoshoot with me. I first photographed mr Luca at his newborn session and it was so cool and an honor to see him again and so grown! When I say he was a super smiley baby, I’m not exaggerating by any means 🙂 He was such a happy soul! Sessions are up to an hour long, but he was done in 40 minute. 3 backdrops and he breezed thru it all. lol

His parents chose 3 different backdrops, one was a baseball one, a blue doors backdrop and a moon and stars backdrop. Clients only need to bring outfits, since I’m stocked with lots of backdrops and props for little ones 🙂 I am so glad they chose me to be their san antonio baby photographer. I can’t wait to see him in 6 months for his cake smash session!
