A Sweet Newborn Petite Session with Royal Purple and Neutral Tones

This sweet newborn petite session was extra special because this was this family’s third newborn session with me in just four years. There is truly nothing better than watching families grow and being trusted again and again to photograph such important milestones. As a San Antonio newborn photographer, returning families always mean so much to me, and this session was such a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do.

For this baby boy’s session, mama chose a rich dark royal purple as his primary blanket color. It photographed beautifully and gave his newborn portraits such a classic, bold look while still feeling soft and timeless. We paired the purple with a mix of beige and neutral tones for his outfits and wraps, which helped create a gallery with variety while keeping everything simple, sweet, and cohesive.

Baby slept so well during his session, which allowed us to move through his setups smoothly and keep everything calm and relaxed. Toward the very end, he woke up and gave us the sweetest wide-eyed photo. One of baby’s big brothers even came along and watched me work with him throughout the session. He was completely in love with his baby brother, and it was the sweetest thing to see. Those little moments are what make newborn sessions feel so personal.

A Sweet Preemie Newborn Session in Peach, Pink, Purple, Beige & Cream | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

There is something so incredibly special about photographing a brand-new baby, and this sweet girl’s newborn session was one I will always remember. As a San Antonio newborn photographer, I get the honor of capturing babies during their tiniest, sleepiest, most delicate stage of life, and it is truly one of the greatest joys of what I do.

This beautiful baby girl was a preemie and came in for her newborn session as soon as she was released from the hospital. She did absolutely wonderfully. After everything her family had already been through, it felt extra meaningful to document these first portraits and celebrate just how strong and precious she is.

For her session, we used the softest, most feminine color palette with lots of peach, beige, pink, purple, and cream. These tones photographed beautifully together and gave her gallery such a sweet, timeless look. The creamy neutrals kept everything soft and classic, while the peach, pink, and purple added the perfect touch of warmth and girly charm.

One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer in San Antonio is getting to create a calm, cozy experience for families while preserving these tiny details that change so quickly. The little fingers, sleepy expressions, curled-up poses, and delicate features are only this tiny for such a short time.

San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Autumn’s Sweet Studio Newborn Session

Autumn was such an absolute dream to photograph during her newborn session here in my San Antonio photography studio. From the moment she was settled, she curled beautifully into each pose and slept peacefully throughout her entire photoshoot — every newborn photographer’s dream client. Sessions like this remind me why I truly love being a newborn photographer in San Antonio and capturing these fleeting first days for families.

Mom had a wonderful vision for Autumn’s session and selected a soft color palette of light purples and teal, with a dark pink wrap for her sibling portraits with big sister. The combination photographed beautifully and added a sweet, feminine touch while still keeping the images timeless and clean. One of my favorite parts of my newborn sessions is allowing parents to customize their baby’s gallery — from wrap colors and props to how many family or sibling images they’d like to include.

Big sister was absolutely precious with her new baby sister and did an amazing job during their sibling portraits. How adorable is Miss Leah? Out of all the jobs in the world, I truly believe working with newborns daily as a newborn photographer here in San Antonio wins every contest. Miss Leah was under two weeks old for her studio newborn session, which is the perfect age for beautifully posed newborn photography. She is the second baby for this wonderful family — and the second newborn session I’ve had the honor of photographing for them. This was my first time photographing sweet Mr. Grayson, and wow—what a fun baby to work with! From the moment he arrived, he was full of smiles, giggles, and those irresistible scrunched-up noses that melt your heart. We started with classic milestone portraits before finishing with the main event: his cake smash session!

Grayson came in with one mission—to destroy that cake—and he absolutely accomplished it. His joy was contagious, and every photo was filled with laughter and personality.

For his first two setups, Mom chose a dreamy moon and stars theme—a timeless, whimsical backdrop that worked beautifully with his little outfit. We then transitioned into a more natural, outdoor-inspired look for his cake smash finale. The simple backdrop paired perfectly with his classic outfit, creating a clean and timeless look that let Grayson’s personality shine through.
