Lael Family Photoshoot- Outdoor sunset

There is something so special about photographing a family year after year and watching their story unfold. This beautiful family of four met me in a dreamy open field in Helotes, Texas just outside of San Antonio, and it could not have been a more perfect evening. The tall golden grass swayed gently in the breeze while the Texas sunset wrapped everything in that soft, glowing light we all love.

As a San Antonio family photographer, golden hour is truly my favorite time to shoot. The light becomes warm and flattering, the sky turns into the prettiest blend of soft oranges and pastels, and everything feels calm and connected. This Helotes field location is one of those hidden gems that gives you wide open space, natural texture, and the most beautiful sunset views.

The kids ran freely through the tall fields, laughing and cuddling up to mom and dad in between playful moments. There were so many genuine smiles, sweet forehead kisses, and tight family squeezes. Those in-between moments are always the ones I treasure most because they tell the real story. It is never about stiff poses. It is about connection, movement, and capturing your family exactly as you are in this season.

What makes sessions like this even more meaningful is when families choose to come back. Being their San Antonio family photographer again is something I never take for granted. Watching their children grow, seeing their personalities shine more each year, and documenting another chapter of their lives is such an honor.

If you are looking for a relaxed, natural family session in San Antonio or the Helotes area, sunset field sessions are truly magical. Tall golden grass, glowing skies, lots of cuddles, and genuine smiles create timeless images you will treasure for years to come.

Amelia’s Newborn Session | San Antonio Newborn Photographer

Amelia’s Newborn Session | San Antonio Newborn Photography Studio

There is something so special about photographing a brand new baby — and sweet Amelia’s session was absolute perfection.

From the moment she arrived at my San Antonio newborn photography studio, she was calm, snuggly, and completely adorable. I may or may not have spent the entire session talking about how cute she was.

For Amelia’s newborn setups, we chose a soft, romantic color palette that complemented her beautifully. We incorporated rich burgundy tones, creamy neutrals, delicate light pinks, and soft lavender purples. Each setup highlighted her tiny features while keeping the focus on her sweet expressions and perfect little details.

Every newborn session in my studio follows a gentle, baby-led flow. We begin with classic posed newborn images on the posing table — those timeless curled-up poses where baby rests peacefully on layered blankets. These images are simple, clean, and designed to feel heirloom-worthy.

From there, we transition into styled prop setups. Props allow for a little variety while still keeping baby safe, supported, and comfortable at all times.

Toward the end of Amelia’s session, she began waking up a bit more easily (which is completely normal!). A snug, cozy swaddle worked like magic — keeping her content so we could capture those final images, including the most meaningful part of the session: portraits with mom and dad.

Family images during a newborn session are always my favorite. They capture not just how tiny your baby is, but how deeply loved they are from the very beginning.

Below is just a small peek into Amelia’s beautiful newborn session here in my San Antonio studio.

Extended Family Photography at Brackenridge Park | San Antonio Family Photographer

There is something incredibly special about photographing families who haven’t had professional portraits taken in years — especially when multiple generations are finally together in one place. This beautiful family shared that their last professional photos were taken when their oldest grandchild was still little, so it was definitely time for an update!

With family members traveling in from all over the U.S., this session became more than just photos — it was about preserving a rare moment when everyone could finally be together again. I was truly honored they trusted me to document these memories for their family.

We met at one of my favorite outdoor photo locations in San Antonio: Brackenridge Park, located just minutes from downtown and right next to the San Antonio Zoo (a favorite spot for my own kids too!). Brackenridge Park offers gorgeous natural scenery with towering trees, peaceful walking paths, charming bridges, and the river flowing through parts of the park — giving us a beautiful variety of backdrops for timeless family portraits.

Extended family sessions can sometimes feel overwhelming for the person organizing them, especially when coordinating multiple households, schedules, and travel plans. This family happened to be visiting Grandma and Grandpa, making it the perfect opportunity to finally capture three generations together in one meaningful session.

Watching the grandparents surrounded by their children and grandchildren was such a reminder of how quickly time passes — and how valuable these photographs become as the years go by. These are the images that get framed on walls, shared with future generations, and treasured long after the session ends.

If your family hasn’t had professional portraits taken in years — or if you’re planning a family gathering, reunion, or visit with loved ones — this is your sign to finally make it happen. You’ll never regret having these memories documented.

San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Autumn’s Sweet Studio Newborn Session

Autumn was such an absolute dream to photograph during her newborn session here in my San Antonio photography studio. From the moment she was settled, she curled beautifully into each pose and slept peacefully throughout her entire photoshoot — every newborn photographer’s dream client. Sessions like this remind me why I truly love being a newborn photographer in San Antonio and capturing these fleeting first days for families.

Mom had a wonderful vision for Autumn’s session and selected a soft color palette of light purples and teal, with a dark pink wrap for her sibling portraits with big sister. The combination photographed beautifully and added a sweet, feminine touch while still keeping the images timeless and clean. One of my favorite parts of my newborn sessions is allowing parents to customize their baby’s gallery — from wrap colors and props to how many family or sibling images they’d like to include.

Big sister was absolutely precious with her new baby sister and did an amazing job during their sibling portraits. Capturing those early bonding moments is always so special and often becomes a family favorite. These images tell such a meaningful story of growing families and the love that begins right from day one.

If you’re expecting and looking for a San Antonio newborn photographer who provides a full-service studio experience with customizable styling, I would love to help you plan your baby’s session. Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first two weeks after birth to ensure those sleepy, curly poses that everyone loves.

San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Baby Leah’s Studio Newborn Session

San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Baby Leah’s Studio Newborn Session

How adorable is Miss Leah? Out of all the jobs in the world, I truly believe working with newborns daily as a newborn photographer here in San Antonio wins every contest. There is nothing sweeter than capturing those tiny details, sleepy stretches, and peaceful expressions during a baby’s first days of life.

Miss Leah was under two weeks old for her studio newborn session, which is the perfect age for beautifully posed newborn photography. She is the second baby for this wonderful family — and the second newborn session I’ve had the honor of photographing for them. Returning families mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful they trusted me again to capture another milestone for their growing family.

One of the things my clients love most about booking a studio newborn session with me is the ability to customize their entire shoot. Families can choose how many family or sibling portraits they would like included, along with the colors, wraps, outfits, props, and even the exact wrap color used for parent images. My San Antonio newborn photography studio is fully stocked with a wide variety of colors and textures so every session feels personal and unique.

For Leah’s session, her parents selected a gorgeous color palette of dark red, dark pink, dark purple, and cream. The result was a beautifully feminine newborn gallery filled with floral elements, delicate headbands, soft textures, and timeless styling. Every detail came together perfectly — and of course, Leah herself made the session absolutely magical.

As a professional studio newborn photographer in San Antonio, my goal is always to create a calm, safe, and comfortable experience for both baby and parents while delivering a gallery of images that will be treasured for generations. If you’re expecting and looking for a newborn photographer in San Antonio, Texas, I would love to help you plan a custom newborn session for your little one.

Moltz Family Photoshoot- san antonio family Photographer

San Antonio Family Photos at Hardberger Park | The Moltz Family

One of the best compliments a family photographer can receive is when a family comes back — and this was already the second family photoshoot I’ve photographed for the Moltz family in 2025. I was absolutely thrilled when they reached out again for updated family portraits here in San Antonio.

Their previous session took place in a beautiful open field in Helotes, Texas, but this time they chose one of my most requested locations: Hardberger Park.

Hardberger Park is one of my favorite spots for family photos in San Antonio because it offers so much variety. From wide open fields to clean walkways and pockets of beautiful light, it’s a location that photographs differently every time — and always beautifully.

We had one of those perfect Texas days: full sunshine, warm (because yes… Texas 😅), but not overly hot and not too windy. November and December in Texas are always a wild card, but this day showed up exactly how we hoped it would.

The Moltz family is such a joy to photograph. Their boys are absolutely adorable, and mom always does an incredible job coordinating outfits that feel seasonal without being overly matched. That kind of styling makes a huge difference in creating timeless family photos that won’t feel dated years from now.

We moved through several of my favorite areas around Hardberger Park, choosing spots where the sunlight poured beautifully through the fields and framed the family naturally. This park truly offers the best of both worlds — natural, open spaces and polished paths that photograph effortlessly.

Being chosen again — just seven months after their last session — truly means so much to me. I’m so grateful they trusted me once again to capture their growing family and create updated portraits here in San Antonio.

If you’re looking for a San Antonio family photographer and love natural light, open fields, and relaxed outdoor sessions, Hardberger Park is an incredible option for your family photos.

Dreamy Maternity Photoshoot in San Antonio | Studio Session

This stunning momma visited my San Antonio photography studio for her full maternity session, and she absolutely glowed through every look. As a San Antonio maternity photographer, my goal is simple: every momma should feel as beautiful as I see her the moment she walks in.

For every full maternity session, you can choose up to 3 gowns from my client closet and 3 backdrops from my curated collection. This mamma found three gowns she loved but ultimately brought her own beautiful outfits — and they were perfect.

✨ Her Three Looks

Look One: A soft beige backdrop paired with her cream fitted dress made for the dreamiest, timeless portraits.
Look Two: A casual white button-up and jeans that highlighted her baby bump in the most authentic way.
Look Three: A sage green dress on my backlit white backdrop — romantic, modern, and angelic.

Every maternity session includes guided posing so you know exactly how to stand, move, and emphasize that gorgeous baby bump you’ve waited so long to show off. I walk you through posing the entire session so you never feel awkward or unsure — this is about celebrating you and this season of life.

3-Month Milestone Session | San Antonio Milestone Photographer

Sweet little Holden is booked for my milestone package, and we’re officially 2 for 2 with adorable sessions. This age never disappoints!

Three-month milestone sessions are intentionally simple. Babies are still a bit floppy and not fully supporting their heads yet, so unlike a newborn session—where baby is asleep and curled up—we focus on expressions, connection, and those new personality traits starting to shine through. Wide-eyed curiosity, soft smiles, surprise faces… this stage is gold.

At this age, babies tire quickly from holding their heads up. They’re used to being snuggled in cozy arms or resting in a bassinet or bouncer, so we keep posing gentle and low-effort. The good news? Because the setups are simple, we usually have a longer window before they need a nap.

Holden did exactly what most 3-month-olds do—got a little fussy, took a 10-minute power nap, and came back ready for round two. Completely normal, totally unpredictable, and honestly part of the fun at this age.

For his session, we started with the fluffy rug, moved to the posing station, and finished with a few adorable prop setups. He nailed every part.

If you’re looking for a San Antonio milestone photographer to capture your baby’s personality at each stage, I’d love to photograph your little one. Contact me today to book your milestone session! https://krystalgarciaphotography.com/san-antonio-cake-smash-photographer/

What poses can we do for a 3 month old? A sneak into past 3 month photoshoots of mine

I get so excited for my 3 month old clients that return for their photoshoots and are now old enough for their next milestone photoshoot- their 3 month portraits! This post is to help my clients know what to expect for their baby’s 3 month photoshoot. 3 Month old babies are still very sleepy- with a 3-4 naps a day but in general, they aren’t full of energy for longer than an hour so the goal is to grab smiles from them and facial expressions but not tire them out with too much sitting up and using all of their new developing muscles which could cause the baby to get too tired and fussy for their portraits.
I use the newborn posing station for some belly poses and then their back and then we move to the fluffy rug for some facial expressions and capture just how much they’ve grown and lastly, we use the white or brown wood alongside with some chairs/prop boxes that baby can recline in safely 🙂
