I thought I would share a more in depth post about Covid -19 and how I’m handling your safety as well as mine. I know we are all concerned over the safety of our children and ourselves and I want to assure you that I am taking precautions to ensure you feel safe 🙂

Pre -Covid 19

Luckily, long before the worries of covid- I was a self diagnosed (my family diagnosed me too) germaphobe. Mostly because of flu seasons, my kids going to public schools (the germs they bring with them were not something I wanted to bring into our home) and me not wanting to bring germs to my studio or myself, which would put me out of work. It’s also not fun seeing your children sick so I’ve done as much as I could to keep them safe and sick free. So cleaning and having hand sanitizer has been a BIG thing in our home long before covid, and having hand sanitizer in my car (every door has one) and purse was a thing before covid lol. We were all sanitizing our hands after each store, before it was even a thing.

Current Procedures

Luckily, my long term clients were able to see how big I was on having a clean studio, home and that hand sanitizer was used a ton during sessions. So now that covid-19 is worrisome, I’m already in the habit of continuing with cleaning my hands with sanitizer often. With numbers being low, I am not wearing a mask unless a client requests it. Although masks are amazing, they aren’t my favorite since i’m asthmatic and I tend to be more asthmatic with it on (trouble with breathing & breathing my own humid air makes it worse and makes me wheezy).

Everything else is continuing as normal…. like washing all fabrics and wiping down props, but now, all surfaces are wiped with clorox wipes (even door handles and disinfecting the guest restroom that my clients use). I of course will not be letting anyone in the studio if they are showing signs of illness. I want you to feel safe. I want to continue to photograph your amazing families and adorable squishy babies and I want to do that while providing ease that you are safe.

Outdoor sessions

One of the biggest concerns for my maternity clients are the use of gowns. I am washing all gowns after they are used (this was done before covid- 19) and am no longer allowing client fittings. This limits exposure to my studio (which is also where my home is) and reduces the wear on my gowns as they would have to washed after each fitting.

Because of the heat, I will not wear a mask outdoors.
