A Beautiful Studio Maternity Session Celebrating Motherhood and Family in San Antonio
There is something so special about documenting a growing family, especially when there are already little ones excited to welcome a new baby!
This beautiful mama joined me at my San Antonio photography studio for a maternity session that was the perfect combination of elegant, feminine portraits and sweet family moments. From soft, flowing fabrics to romantic florals and photographs with her husband and children, every part of this session celebrated the beauty of motherhood and the excitement of welcoming another little one.

Elegant Maternity Portraits with Flowing White Fabrics

One of my favorite parts of this maternity photoshoot was creating these gorgeous, timeless portraits using flowing white fabric.
The simplicity of the white backdrop allowed all the attention to remain on mama and her beautiful baby bump. We incorporated different poses, soft fabric movement, and a combination of standing and seated portraits to create a gallery that felt both graceful and powerful.
I absolutely love giving expecting mothers the opportunity to embrace their changing bodies and feel beautiful during this season of life. Pregnancy is such a short chapter, and these photographs become a wonderful reminder of just how incredible this journey really is.

Romantic Floral Maternity Photography
We also incorporated a beautiful floral backdrop paired with a dreamy, flowing floral gown.
The soft pastel colors, delicate flowers, and feminine details created such a romantic look. This was a wonderful contrast to the minimalist white portraits and added another beautiful style to her maternity gallery.
One of the things I love about studio maternity photography is having the flexibility to create several completely different looks during one session. Whether you love simple and classic portraits, glamorous maternity photographs, or soft romantic florals, your session can reflect your personal style.

Including the Whole Family in Your Maternity Session
As much as I love photographing expecting mothers individually, including their families always adds another layer of meaning to a maternity session.
This sweet family of four is preparing to become a family of five, and capturing everyone together before their newest addition arrives was such a special part of our time in the studio.
Their family portraits were filled with beautiful smiles, sweet hugs, and moments of connection. I especially loved capturing the children alongside their mama and her growing belly.
These photographs aren’t just about pregnancy. They’re about remembering what your family looked like during this exciting season, before everything changes in the most wonderful way.
And someday, their newest little one will be able to look back at these images and see just how loved they were before they even arrived.

A Romantic Petite Maternity Session in San Antonio

There is something so beautiful about keeping a maternity session simple and letting Mom be the focus.

For this petite maternity session in my San Antonio studio, Mom chose one of the floral maternity gowns from my client closet and paired it with this gorgeous garden backdrop. I love giving my maternity clients the opportunity to choose the look that feels most like them—and these two choices were absolutely made for each other.

The soft floral gown against the deep greens and romantic flowers created a dreamy, almost storybook feel while still keeping the focus right where it belongs: on this beautiful mama and her growing baby.

Maternity Gowns Available for Your Session

One of the things I love offering my maternity clients is access to my collection of maternity gowns. You don’t have to worry about purchasing something you’ll only wear once or trying to figure out what photographs well.

For her session, Mom selected this soft floral gown with its flowing skirt and dramatic sleeves. The movement in the fabric gave us so much variety—from classic maternity portraits to more glamorous poses showing off her beautiful bump.

And yes—the gown is available for my maternity clients to use!

You Choose the Look of Your Petite Maternity Session

Petite sessions are a great option for moms who want beautiful professional maternity portraits without needing a larger session.

Mom was able to choose both her maternity gown and her backdrop, which meant we could create a completely coordinated look before she ever stepped in front of my camera.

That little bit of planning makes such a difference. Instead of trying to squeeze several completely different looks into one session, we can concentrate on posing, expression, movement, and creating a cohesive gallery you’ll actually want to display.

And looking at these portraits? One gown and one backdrop were more than enough. 🤍
